MIP Ambassadors Shine in the Community for Lunar New Year!

Our MIP Ambassadors have kicked off the new year with a strong presence at several community events:

• Feb. 7 – Lucky Lunar Fest 2026 at Macy's South Coast Plaza

  Bergeson TK–2nd grade students performed Lunar New Year songs and a special choreographed fan dance for enthusiastic crowds. View photos and video from this event.

• Feb. 7 – Lunar New Year Parade & Festival at Irvine Great Park Bergeson proudly represented CUSD’s TK–12 MIP program in the parade with 50 students, family members, and our Bergeson Lion Dance Team. The evening concluded with a performance on the Great Park Live stage, featuring our upper-grade students singing “Moon Represents My Heart” alongside our Lion Dancers. • Feb. 21 – CUSD MIP Showcase at The Shops at Mission Viejo MIP students from Bergeson Elementary, Newhart Middle School, and Capistrano Valley High School presented an MIP-exclusive, 2-hour showcase. The program featured Lunar New Year songs, fan dances, Chinese yoyo, Lion Dances, instrumental performances, and Chinese pop songs—a high-energy celebration of Chinese culture and our outstanding MIP program. View photos and videos from our Feb. 21 showcase.

Be sure to catch our MIP Ambassadors at our final community performance on March 7 at the Pacific Symphony OC Lantern Festival for our 2:15 pm performance on the outdoor stage!  Anticipated attendance at this event is 4,000.
