About Friends of MIP

Fueling bilingual excellence through community support

Our Mission

Friends of MIP supports the Mandarin Immersion Program by funding educational resources, cultural experiences, and community events that public school budgets can't cover. We bridge the gap between what the school district provides and what our students need to thrive.

Every dollar we raise goes directly to classroom materials, field trips, cultural celebrations, and teacher support. We work alongside educators and families to build a program that delivers exceptional bilingual education.

Our History

Founded in 2010 alongside the Mandarin Immersion Program, Friends of MIP has grown with our students. What started as a small group of parent volunteers has become a robust organization supporting hundreds of families across TK-12.

Over 14 years, we've funded Lunar New Year celebrations, increased one-on-one and small group learning time, sponsored guest speakers, and created opportunities for students to use Mandarin outside the classroom. Our commitment grows stronger each year as we watch students graduate truly bilingual and culturally competent.
